I hold a Master’s Degree in Library & Information Science and have served on the Gunnison Watershed School District board since 2019. My three children are enrolled in the school district. I am extremely passionate about these three values as I work to serve our community:

Why I'm Running & What I Stand For: 

1. What made you decide to run for school board? Was there a strong precipitating factor?

I am running for school board to ensure our district continues to make decisions based on what is best for all students, including my three children. Recent national efforts to limit and control educators and students are not in the best interest of students, parents, teachers, or communities.

2. What will be important to you as you run your campaign?

Conducting a respectful and nonpartisan campaign, communicating with voters throughout the valley about issues facing our district, and encouraging voters to elect the Community for Student Success slate of candidates—Jody Coleman, Mark Vanderveer and myself.

3. What are the major challenges/projects you see facing the board in the coming years?

Improving student academic achievement remains a top priority and challenge, which includes recruiting and retaining dedicated staff. Two major projects are: Delivering on the voter-supported vision of the facilities design and construction projects and working closely with the community to create a new strategic plan for the district.
